Antipodean came highly recommended by friends as a cafe to happily pass a morning in Bangsar. If you ignore the view from the window you could easily believe you were in a sophisticated nook in Melbourne or Sydney. The cool sharp setting with staff uniformed in black gives the place a more professional feel than many cafes in the area. The menu written on the walled chalkboard is quite extensive and similar to what you'd typically expect in a popular spot in cosmopolitan Australia. The all day breakfast menu with real BACON seems to be what everyone is  excited about. With pancakes, eggs of all sorts, pastries, cereal, beans and French toast all making an appearance too it's hard to choose just one item. We finally decided on the pumpkin and sweet corn fritters with mushrooms, and the cheese & mushroom omelette. Both were well prepared and filling, not gourmet fare but unpretentious hearty grub under 20RM. A number of fresh juices were a hit with hubby, and I surprisingly enjoyed their coffee. Considering my most relished beans are generally sweeter South American blends, the slightly more alkaline, strong brew from Indonesia was an unexpected joy. I shall give this bustling joint another shot for lunch or dinner. Any suggestions on what to order?
